Strengthening Challenges

As expected, lessons were already tougher this 2nd quarter. Hard work is really the main thing that we should already paste in mind and doings, of course with determination. I, myself, I will not doubt that I find my subjects hard already, especially Mathematics.
Formulas, solutions and equations! These mind- twisting things just could not stop bothering and confusing my mind! But then, with lots of concentration, analyzation and focus, I moderately understood each and every lesson that was given to us by our teacher. Moreover, of course we will not understand everything without the help and guidance of our ma’am Pablico. I salute her because of being patient and understanding to us. She is undoubtedly a great teacher ‘coz everybody knows that Math is hard to be taught esp. to the level of senior students. She never left us without understanding the lesson properly. She always makes sure that each and everyone in the class understood the lesson. Because of her, I hate Math lesser now!
J
Time is really fast. Second quarter was about to end again…. I know, I would surely encounter things like this in the future specifically when I am already in college. These are challenges from God to strengthen me. Therefore, as the saying said, “I will try and try until I succeed!”

Scientricity: Energizing Science Clubbers for Sustainable Energy

Sustainable energy is the sustainable provision of energy that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Technologies that promote sustainable energy include renewable energy sources, such as hydroelectricity, solar energy, wind energy, wave power, geothermal energy, and tidal power, and technologies designed to improve energy efficiency.
I always believed that the youth holds the power to expand our frontiers. We continue to innovate. We continue to look for means to break the walls that limit us. We continue to change, revolutionize and find ways. These passions of innovation and novelty must be ignited in our young minds. So let us all sustain, conserve and protect energy.

A Phenomenal Hero, Indeed!

What else can we think of when teachers are mentioned? Their understanding, hardships, advices and care for us students. And of course, lectures, new lessons, quizzes and assignments! Those memories when they came about to tell stories and jokes with us students. Their “sermons” to us during times when we were disobedient, or lazy to pass our assignments. It’s their continuous patience and hard works for us that make them our hero.Teachers don’t only teach theories to us but they are also sources of moral teachings. Inside and outside the campus, our teachers are our models. In relation to health and wellness, the teacher is expected to have and project a good state of both mental and physical health. Teachers are treasures in our society; let us help them be at their best so that they too can help bring out the best in our children, in their students. Our second parents, our teachers have helped a lot in the contribution of our success. They will forever be a treasure. This teacher’s day was a good way of expressing gratitude to our beloved teachers whom are the reason why we have accomplished most of what we have accomplished until the present.
However, we should not only express our warmest thanks to our teachers during the 5th day of the month of October but it should always be done. Thank you teachers! We love you!

Them?? UNKABOGABLE!

When I hear the word “hero”, the first thing that comes to my mind is superman, batman, spiderman, wonderwoman, it’s because they were my idol when I was still in my younger years. They can fly! They have special powers! They have super strengths! Though I enjoyed watching and talking about them until now, they’re not the “heroes” I should be idolizing now.I’ve growned up. I’m already living in a modernized country, or world either. I already know how to decide practically, I know what’s right or wrong, and of course I know whom to be called a modern hero, an undoubtedly real modern hero. These so called heroes are actually almost everyone of us but to be more specific, they are the people who make every single day of our lives meaningful and passionate. As to myself , I have modern heroes that i’m very very proud of and they are my parents. They are the one who takes care of me whenever I need care. They love me for who and what I am. They lend me valuable helping hands whenever I need one. They are the ones who taught me cherish values of life and direct me from any wrong actions. They look at me as someone very significant in their lives.Ma and Pa, I am sorry ‘coz -- I lied, I disappointed you, I messed up. No words, nothing, could ever explain how thankful I am to God because He had given me such splendid parents. I love you ma and pa more than anything in this world.

"Tatag ng Wikang-Filipino, Lakas ng Pagka-Pilipino"

Former President Manuel Quezon declared “Wikang Filipino” as our Pambansang Wika that’s why he is said to be the “Ama ng Wikang Filipino.”August was always been the “Buwan ng Wika” for every year with different themes. This year, 2012, “Tatag ng Wikang Filipino, Lakas ng Pagka-Pilipino ” is the theme and as usual it is celebrated with different kinds of contests and competitions.

“Buwan ng Wika” always reminds me of our national hero, Dr.Jose Rizal, and his unending love for our country and our very own Filipino language. He had always been my inspiration when talking about our very owns.
Philippines is a very tantalizing country. We Filipino’s were very lucky and proud to be a Filipino that’s why we should also learn to love our own products, our own traditions, our own Kalikasan and of course, our very own dialect. We should shout that we have the unity, that we care of our dialect which is the tagalog. We must show all of them that this dialect was created to be used properly, to be loved, to be patronized, and to bring progress to our country, Philippines.

Challenging Obstacles

My senior life started on the fourth day of June, this year, 2012. At first, I was still so nervous of course ‘coz thank God I’m already a senior and I should already be a good role model to our adings in the lower year levels. As we went on with our discussions on the following days, I was already coming to realize the true feeling of being a fourth year student and I can undoubtedly say that I learned new things.

As a senior and as a person, I cannot avoid problems and challenges involving assignments, activities, projects, etc, inside or even outside the IV- Rizal classroom. The making of our project for a short period, just like our project in Araling Panlipunan IV (AP). It was my very first time to encounter that kind of project that is why I did not know what I was supposed to do yet and we’re just given one week to finish it. I tried my very best to finish it beautifully and correctly, and I did!

Things like this cannot be avoided but these are only challenges made by God to try us, to make us a stronger and a better person. I surpassed this kind of trial because I believed that God is always there to guide me into the right way. Of course, I believed in myself and said, “I can do this, I must do this correctly for a good grade in exchange for my parents’ sacrifices.” My family is my biggest inspiration (except God of course).

3rd State of the Nation Address

I think the government (under President Aquino) is doing well. Perception of him and the Philippine economy are excellent. The foreign investments will continue to happen. We hope that more of the private public partnerships will continue to happen too. In spite of this Crisis, I think Philippines are one of the darlings of investments now. I think we were quite lucky we had the right economic team doing all these efforts. This SONA is very informative and I think our economy is already progressing so we should continue our good doings for the betterment of our own country.

Ma-My Veggielicious!

The theme focuses on encouraging Filipinos to increase consumption of vegetables to address micronutrient deficiencies and prevent non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes.

I believe healthy nutrition is the most important factor for maintaining and keeping good health. Healthy nutrition basically is eating healthy and balanced from all the basic food groups; which consists of the dairy group, poultry group, fruit group, vegetable group and a little from the fats, oils, and sweets groups. It is also imperative to drink an adequate amount that corresponds with the daily guidelines of eight glasses a day which is equivalent to a one two-liter soda per day. In order for myself to attain this status of eating healthy I kept a food log for a month that has the entries of what I ate each day.

So, now let us all eat vegetables for a healthy and nutritious living.

Mr. Benigno Simeon C. Aquino
Republic of the Philippines
President

Dearest Mr. President,

Howdie sir, how are you doing? How was it to be seated as the president of our very own country, Philippines? Is it so much stressful sir?

Oh! Anyway sir, we are indeed very very lucky to be given this chance to formally write you a letter. I am one of the concern students of Ilocos Sur National High School and I sir would want to grab this one big opportunity to ask you a simple favor not for my self but for the betterment of our school. Sir, if you could only help us with our own internet connection so that it would be easier for us to connect and of course it would also be a lot faster. Our school, ISNHS, is indeed one of the biggest secondary schools in the entire Ilocos Sur and it is very populated sir. ISNHS have educational computers sir but the connection is very slow, it’s because we don’t have our own WiFi. If we could only afford to have one sir, but then we can’t. I hope you can understand what my point is.

  Thank you very much sir.
              Have a good day!

Respectfully Yours,
Faye Catherine V. Amigable
